4000 page views! Whoop whoop! Thank you for your support, it has been amazing to see my little blog grow over the last few months. I love doing this, and I hope you love reading it!
So Christmas is coming closer and closer, and I know some of you haven't started buying gifts yet. This is ideal for all your funky girl family and friends, and the best of it is that it is for a good cause. My cousin, Anschke, the sister of Tanja (whom I blogged about on Monday), has started making these cute flower hairclips and hairbands to raise money for a little boy named Kevin Feldtmann.
I want to give some more info about him, before I show off my baby cousin's awesome handiwork! (I'm copying and pasting this from Kevin's website)
"Kevin Feldtmann is a 18 month old boy from Pretoria who has been Diagnosed with Zellweger Syndrome, a very rare genetic disorder without a cure. The chances of a child being born with this disease is about +- 1 in 100 000. The only treatment available is at best experimental and will only give him a better quality of life and life expectancy. Most babies born with this disease don't live longer than 6 months. More information on this syndrome can be found on http://www.martinezfoundation.com"
Please go and have a look at their website for more information on Zellweger Syndrome, as well as the Feldtmann family. You can also donate to the family, who are badly indebted due to all the medical bills piling up. There is also a doctor in Spain who can possibly help little Kevin, but it would mean that the family has to travel to Spain, and they may have to stay there for up to seven weeks. This is obviously going to be very costly, and the family needs funds to help their son.
Now here in Joburg, all the local radio stations are having their Christmas wish programs, where a lot of funds and things are given to those in need. Little Kevin is in need, and we have the resources between us to make our own wish come true. Let us come together and help this little man, and his family, to have a blessed Christmas, and a good new year. He deserves it.
At this point I would like to state that my cousin is only 15. If a 15 year old can decide to do something to make a difference, how much more can we do? Anschke had the biggest heart I have ever seen in a person, and she has decided to be the change the world needs. Let's support her in helping little Kevin! Love you cuz!
Here are the products :
The flowers on these clips and hairbands were hand knitted by Anschke! Cute huh? The clips are R10.00 for 2 and the hairbands are R20 each. They have a glittery center, and come in different colours! You could wear these anywhere and be unique. They would look really cute if you wore them to school. Heck, I'm 26 and I'll wear them! :) These cool clip on hats are R15.00 each, and are also available in different colours! The model is Tanja by the way, and you still have time to contact her about yummies to eat. :)
Please support my cuz, or the Feldtmann's this festive season! We have so much to be thankful for, let us help those less fortunate than us. Email Anschke at : firstname.lastname@example.org to place your orders!
Stay beautiful, and have a wonderful weekend!
