All about eyebrows!

Hello beauties!

Before I go on to today's post, I want to ask you to please vote in the poll. It's important for me to know what you want to see on the Bloomin' Couch, and I'd appreciate it! Also, if you are a regular here, won't you please follow of subscribe?

Anyway, on to eyebrows. I've done a post about it before, right at the beginning of the blog, but this post will be more in depth.

How to shape your eyebrows :

A) Taking a pencil or a makeup brush, place it next to your nostril, straight upwards. Your brow should start at the point where the pencil crosses your eyebrow.

B) Place the pencil next to your nostril, at an angle that crosses your pupil. This should be where your eyebrow arches.

C) Place the pencil against your nostril, at an angle that touches the outer corner of your eye. This should be where your eyebrow ends.

You can make marks with a white pencil where these points should be.

Ways to remove eyebrow hair :

Plucking is the most common and popular method. You can do it at home, and therefore it's free. All you need is a good pair of tweezers, and some patience.

Basically, you are pulling out hair for hair, until you get the shape you want.

The first time is usually the worst, but it gets more bearable after a while and eventually reaches the point where it doesn't hurt at all.

After many (many) years of plucking, the hair will stop growing back. But it really takes years, so don't worry if you make mistakes in the beginning!

Waxing is also a popular method. A sticky solution is placed where the hair should be removed, and ripped off, taking the hair with it. This is a great way of getting rid of a lot of hair at once.

Waxing should be done by a professional, unless if you know what you're doing. This method is going to cost you some money, since you don't just need one pair of tweezers. Never try this with products designed for other body parts. The skin on your eyes is really delicate!

Also keep in mind that you may break out into a rash after you've waxed. This simply depends on the sensitivity of your skin, and the method the professional used.

Threading is the new big thing in hair removal, even though it's been around for a long time. Basically, strands of thread are rolled into each other, and rolled over the hairs, picking them up and removing them. A few hairs get removed at the same time, but not as many as with waxing.

It can be painful, but hey, it's painful to be beautiful!

This has to be done by a professional, except if you've been trained, and it costs a little more than waxing.

Filling in your brows :

See the difference? Filling in your eyebrows will seriously frame your eyes and make them pop. It is an important step in your daily beauty routine that you shouldn't be leaving out.

You can fill your brows with eyebrow pencils, eyeshadow or brow gel.

A new big thing is eyebrow stencils. It's basically a shape cut out of plastic, that you place over the eyebrow as a guide when you fill in your brows. This is great for experimenting with brow shapes before you commit to one.

Silly eyebrow facts :

* In ancient Egypt, priests plucked every hair from their bodies, including eyebrows and lashes.
* The eyebrow on the side you your face you sleep on will grow and be shaped differently than the other.
* There are approximately 550 hairs in an eyebrow.
* The space between your brows is called the Glabella.

Stay beautiful!
