Monday, the fourth of September brought all the fun we could handle. Thorpe Park. Now, I happen to love theme parks and all the wild rides. Gold Reef City loves me and I love Gold Reef City. Just ask anyone who knew me growing up. But Thorpe Park was something else. Every ride has its very own personality I tell you! The landscape around the ride is sculpted to help create the atmosphere they want to set with the ride. Really.
Like, when you approach The Swarm, which is a ride inspired by aliens attacking earth, you'll find a chaotic battle scene with overturned vehicles, a crashed airplane and even a burning red telephone box. The music they play there again adds to the scene, the sound of rescue teams coming, electrical wires buzzing and so on. The same can be said for the rise Saw, which is based on the movies, so they made it scary in the waiting line.
Ever heard of a backwards moving rollercoaster? Thorpe Park has one! You get on and move backwards through the dark. This ride was completely lost on me though, because I'm night blind. But apparently it makes people feel really nauseous?
Anyway, we had a blast. If I look kind of wet on some of the pictures, that's because I am. The ride is called Tidal Wave, but it should have been Tsunami. Or Get-on-this-ride-to-get-SOAKING-WET. But that's all I'll say about that!
It was a lot of fun! Anyway, Willem was kind enough to share the pictures we didn't have, so I'm uploading them as well. This is from September first, when we went to Camden Town, Wicked the show and Piccadilly Circus after midnight. Some of the shots are of us on the train on our way to the show.
Franco, if you see this, the picture with the Coke logo was taken specially for you! :) Have a fabulicious weekend friends!
Stay beautiful and be kind to animals,
