Words don't come easy

Hello beauties!

What's in a word? The age old question. I read something yesterday on another blog (which I'll tell you all about as soon as Auntie Sune is ready!!) and I thought that it held such truth.

Words hold power.

Did you know? Think about it. A single word can make you happy, make you feel like you're walking on air, make your stomach turn with butterflies and make you feel all fuzzy inside. Like LOVE. As in; "I love you!"

But a single word can make you cry and scream, make you pull at your hair, make you want to crawl into a corner and not come out of it ever again. Like LOSER. As in; "You totally ruined it! You're such a loser!"

We can uplift and inspire with words and we can cause such damage to other people with other words. We say things before we think, not even considering the consequences sometimes. Even the tone with which we say things can hurt people. "Wow, you look FAT in that dress!" "You're such an IDIOT sometimes!" "This is all your FAULT!"

Sometimes, I wonder where we come off as human beings to insult other people so easily. I mean, honestly, everyone makes mistakes and we're all really different and diverse people. We're never going to all agree on things. We're never all going to look the same and think the same. And it's flipping fantastic! You're you and I'm me! WOW!

Shouldn't we be praising each other's differences rather than telling them how fat, stupid or imperfect they are? "You'd look amazing in another colour!" "You make me angry, but I still love you." "You made a mistake, but you know what, you'll get it right next time."

What if we only uplifted others? If we said love instead of hate? If we said brilliant instead of stupid? If we inspired others to try again rather than give up?

Our world would change! Ever seen Pay it Forward? LET'S PAY IT FORWARD! Do one good deed a day, even if it's just to tell someone how awesome they look or think or are. Stop the teller in your local Checkers and tell her she has pretty eyes. Stop your local petrol attendant and tell him his smile made your day. Stop the old lady crossing the street and tell her she aged beautifully.

Heck, tell your brother he's INCREDIBLE and TALENTED! (Jean, you're INCREDIBLE and TALENTED and I LOVE YOU BOET!!) Call up your granny and tell her you love her! Tell the people closest to you how amazing they are and see the results. Don't answer in anger. Answer in love. No matter how difficult it may be. Do unto others as you would have them do to you!

Let's build up the people around us. Each of us has it within ourselves to make a difference.

By the way, happy twenty third birthday Rochel! Hope you have a amazing day! (Yes, almost all my cousins have their birthdays this time of the year. :D)

Stay beautiful and be kind to animals,
