Thorpe Park and Wicked revisited

Hello beauties!

Monday, the fourth of September brought all the fun we could handle. Thorpe Park. Now, I happen to love theme parks and all the wild rides. Gold Reef City loves me and I love Gold Reef City. Just ask anyone who knew me growing up. But Thorpe Park was something else. Every ride has its very own personality I tell you! The landscape around the ride is sculpted to help create the atmosphere they want to set with the ride. Really.

Like, when you approach The Swarm, which is a ride inspired by aliens attacking earth, you'll find a chaotic battle scene with overturned vehicles, a crashed airplane and even a burning red telephone box. The music they play there again adds to the scene, the sound of rescue teams coming, electrical wires buzzing and so on. The same can be said for the rise Saw, which is based on the movies, so they made it scary in the waiting line.

Ever heard of a backwards moving rollercoaster? Thorpe Park has one! You get on and move backwards through the dark. This ride was completely lost on me though, because I'm night blind. But apparently it makes people feel really nauseous?

Anyway, we had a blast. If I look kind of wet on some of the pictures, that's because I am. The ride is called Tidal Wave, but it should have been Tsunami. Or Get-on-this-ride-to-get-SOAKING-WET. But that's all I'll say about that!

It was a lot of fun! Anyway, Willem was kind enough to share the pictures we didn't have, so I'm uploading them as well. This is from September first, when we went to Camden Town, Wicked the show and Piccadilly Circus after midnight. Some of the shots are of us on the train on our way to the show.

Franco, if you see this, the picture with the Coke logo was taken specially for you! :) Have a fabulicious weekend friends!

Palaces galore.

Hello beauties!

Next up on our trip was one of the biggest reasons one goes to London. Aka Buckingham and Windsor. We went to see Windsor Castle LATE on Sunday, 2 September. Our day was spent laying about and hanging around in shops, just a relaxed day to allow my blistered feet to recover. I had bought a book that day and I was going to do my very best to finish reading it before bedtime (I'm like that with a book.), but alas, Willem had other plans. :)

It was about 11:00 PM when we reached our destination. We do have some show stopper pictures for you because of it though.

The following day was Buckingham (as well as Harrods, the Greenway and some other stuff). It was pretty busy there, as is probably to be expected. We got some great pictures there as well.

To end this post, some of the random pictures.
