Leaf Carving

Hello beauties!

Before we get to the post today, I have to share with you : I've had another great review on The Rise of the Exile Queen!!

The story of a young princess who is the heir to the throne of a vast underground city. Unfortunately her evil mother exiled her and her sister at an early age to the surface to remove her from any chance of gaining the throne. The story of how she amasses a large army, takes over a city and defends it from an evil king and his cybernetic creatures that were once men. She gains and loses friends during these battles. The use of the SteamPunk genre is quite subtle in the book and quite often is just implied. Looking forward to reading the next in the series. All in all a great book that I'd recommend to anyone.

Thank you Capot for this awesome 5 star review!

And just a head up, pretty soon both my novels will be available on the ibook store, as well as the Nook store, and you can find them now on Lulu.com.

On to the post. Leaf carving art is becoming really big. It's a trend that's been growing slowly, and now it's so popular that you can even have custom carvings done on leaves. You can find many places where you place an order and they capture your smiling (or pouting if you like) face on a leaf.

Obviously modern leaf carving makes use of machinery to do the actual work, but in ancient times (and where artists are concerned today) they hand carved these leaves. It's a pretty amazing form of art!

Here are some examples.

Pretty cool huh?

Come back tomorrow for my May favourites. Have an awesome day!

Stay beautiful and be kind to animals,

Yolandie
